Top Public Golf Courses in Suffolk County

Image
Honorable Mention - Shelter Island Country Club Shelter Island Country Club (a.k.a. Goat Hill) Im just noting this course because of the lack of options for public golf out east and my personal experience here. After a quick ferry to Shelter Island from Sag Harbor you are about 10 minutes out from this very local golf course. It's a 9 hole course that consists of a lot of blind shots which I personally was not a fan of. The best part about this course is the little club house pictured above. They offer a deal called a double bogey which is two beers of your choice and a bag of chips for $5. After golfing here I recommend hitting Salt which is also on Shelter Island. Fire food and drinks with a dank view of some boats as it sits right on a dock. 5 - Poxabogue Golf Course First Hole of Poxabogue Golf Course Poxabogue is located directly off of 27 in between Bridgehampton and East Hampton. This place has a big range and is great for a quick 9 holes. It has two par fours a

Top 10 IPA's for Real Bros

Image
Here is my ranking of my favorite 10 IPA's right now. Just want to say the last 5 are all so dank it was really difficult to chose the order of those. Much love to all these brews. All these have some fire power, drink r esponsibly . 10 - Lagunitas IPA Lagunitas IPA ABV - 6.2% $ - 12oz 6 Pack Bottles $10.99 Lagunitas IPA, a classic west-coast style brew. Beer Advocate describes the flavors as "orange reflections. Scent of malt, bread and honey, citrus fruits, herbaceous hopping." My take on Lagunitas is that it is another IPA that is not amazing but it will not let you down. Solid brew but not my first choice. 9 - Goose Island IPA Goose Island IPA ABV - 5.9% $ - 12oz 6 Pack Bottles $10.49 Goose IPA is a pretty standard IPA. It is available mostly everywhere. In my experience, this is the only IPA I have seen sold at golf events on the PGA Tour. Pretty standard IPA here, it sure wont wow you, but it doesn't let you down. 8 - Vo

Try on rare shoes from the comfort of your home

Image
The buy and sell sneaker platform GOAT has introduced technology into their app that allows you to try on select sneakers from the app. This is an example of augmented reality products which are sure to be a normality of the future. You can use the Try-On feature by opening the GOAT app and scrolling down on the homepage. The shoes available for AR Try-On tend to be very rare and exclusive which makes the experience all that more exciting. Many people would never be able to see what these shoes would look like on feet and now they can. I assume this is made possible by GOAT using an immense amount of cameras capturing the shoe from every angle which creates points similar to video game face scans. From there they can build a model where the camera recognizes your foot and places the shoe in the correct place. How Barstool beat ESPN at their own game

Image
As a young avid sports fan I watched ESPN religiously. I grew up loving the personalities like Stuart Scott and John Anderson. They were legends in their own right. But one thing I found when watching sportcenter that really turned me off was that they would re-use their content constantly. Ive watched sportcenter on repeat a disgusting amount of times. ESPN 2 used to just re-air ESPN s content an hour later. ESPN was the best was when they first started out. The anchors were young and were able to relate to the younger demographic better. Their personalities were the things that kept peoples interest. TV was relatively new, it was sort of like the wild west. They were the first to do what they were doing. Pictured below is the legend Chris Berman in 1985. He started at ESPN over 30 years ago and continues to make content for them today. Okay Boomer. Chris Berman of ESPN As like any dynasty there is a run and naturally an end to that run. Enter Barstool Sports . What st

Tiger vs Phil round 2

Image
Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson shaking hands during their 1v1 match in 2018 LETS GOOOO. Tiger vs Phil round 2 proves to me that there is in fact a God out there. Life without any social interaction is bad enough, no sports makes things that much worse. With the help of rapid advancements in technology plus millionaire athletes who just want to help out, we now have some sports content. Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning Vs. Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady. These legends will be playing next month I assume playing with ridiculous amounts of money. The first match included side bets as a larger money game going on during the match as a whole. With all proceeds going to charity of the winners choice. This match is reported to be aired on TNT but I can guarantee it will be available to stream in order to get the most amount of revenue for this event. Some things I'd like to see in this Match that wasn't in the first - More trash talk - Softer greens and Easier Pins  - Tiger and

Why are there so many elite stock traders on Tik Tok?

Image
Am I the only one who gets my feed filled with 12 year olds telling me what stocks are "good buys" during the coronavirus? Some including but not limited to: all cruise lines, gas/oil companies, and various retail companies. Sure buy low sell high, but you can't just bet on every sector that has crashed immensely to come back. The volatility is insane right now and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. Unless your long on all of these stocks you won't see any real returns, in fact, you might see some of these stocks go to zero. These kids are like aliens though, why should I listen to someone who has not graduated high school for stock advice? And maybe a better question why do they think anyone would take their word for it? When I was these kids age I was using my time playing endless amounts of video games and playing sports with my friends like a normal kid. Someone tell these kids to enjoy your childhood. Cuomo Cancels Golf

Image
Throughout this quarantine golf has been the one constant that I can rely on. Golf is about being out in nature, enjoying time with your friends, and relaxing. Golf is naturally a non-contact sport. Up until a week ago golf was aloud in NY state until Governor Cuomo deemed all golf courses non-essential businesses.  Courses were doing the best they could in terms of keeping the course a safe environment. Many courses let each golfer use their own cart, rakes were removed from bunkers, and some cups were raised to take away the need to touch the pin. But according to Cuomo golf courses are not safe but grocery stores are.  Golf is something that people do to get away from the bullshit. It is seen as a getaway for some. Lets just hope that it comes back soon. IMO golf will be the first sport to come back during this time due to the fact that it involves the least amount of contact. Sports change life like we never knew it could

COVID-19 as more or less taken away everything I love in life. Going out to restaurants / bars and watching sports. Now that I can't go out to eat with my friends and family I am forced to learn how to cook for myself. The closest thing to going out I have during this time is when I get to go to the grocery store once a week. Which upon arrival I tend to have to wait in line outside because of capacity regulations to maintain social distancing. While not being able to go out to eat may be bad, I think a life with sports and no restaurants is considerably better than vice versa. Sports simply put is just another form of entertainment. Arguably the best entertainment us Americans have. Not only is there something to watch every day, there are so many news stories that come from each league/team/industry/sports media company. With all sports leagues being put on hold for now, these sports media companies like ESPN or Barstool Sports have their best source of content creatio

Cursed Graduation Class of 2020

Image
Senior year is traditionally one that is jam packed with fun events. Most of us by now had finished a majority of the tough classes for our majors and were excited for all of the fun send off events our schools have planned for us. These were supposed to be the last few months of our lives where we have an unrealistic amount of responsibility. Seniors of years past were able to do as they wish without any worldwide pandemic ruining their fun. Seniors of today get to have their final year of college cut short and are left to join the work force in a crippled economy. Although the issue of seniors losing their last semester of college is minuscule in relation to the problems that have resulted from COVID-19 I think that the senior class of 2020 will be able to bond over how much disappointment they went through in regards to their last year in college being cut short. Many universities have suspended graduations and cancelled all senior week activities. For those school who have
