Senior year is traditionally one that is jam packed with fun events. Most of us by now had finished a majority of the tough classes for our majors and were excited for all of the fun send off events our schools have planned for us. These were supposed to be the last few months of our lives where we have an unrealistic amount of responsibility. Seniors of years past were able to do as they wish without any worldwide pandemic ruining their fun. Seniors of today get to have their final year of college cut short and are left to join the work force in a crippled economy.
Although the issue of seniors losing their last semester of college is minuscule in relation to the problems that have resulted from COVID-19 I think that the senior class of 2020 will be able to bond over how much disappointment they went through in regards to their last year in college being cut short.
Many universities have suspended graduations and cancelled all senior week activities. For those school who have continued graduation commencements online, shame on you.
For those schools who say senior week activities will happen in the future, I appreciate your dedication to the class of 2020, but things will never be the same.
