Review of Trump Links at Ferry Point

My Review of The Experience I Had at Trump Links

Putting Green view from Trump Links at Ferry Point

I recently played Trump Links at Ferry Point with three of my friends from high school. We are all in are early twenties and play golf for fun. Our handicaps range from 4 to 16. We all enjoy playing golf but only one of us is a member of a country club, so we struggle to play pristine courses in the Westchester, NY area as we are limited to public tracks. So we decided to all splurge on a trip to a course we pass a lot when going over the Whitestone bridge.

We had a 2PM tee time. We show up to the course at noon. Upon entering you are greeted by men at the bag drop who will take your bags and direct you to go inside to the pro shop to check in.

We played during the week to avoid weekend prices and still ended up spending a whopping $230 per golfer. It broke down as $197 greens fee plus $33 for carts. While it was very expensive for us, in my opinion it was worth it. Included in the price was unlimited use of the practice facilities as well as free tees and ball markers. The practice facilities included a full length driving range with multiple targets, chipping area which included two tiers and sand bunkers, as well as a designated putting green.

View from the Putting Green at Trump Links

The view was amazing. The course was in very good condition and the greens were inviting. They played much straighter than one may think. It is a proper link course which was very tough to find in the Westchester, NY area. Being out there I was thinking that this place could easily host a Presidents Cup.

Other Notable Mentions

The golf carts were insane. They had quilted padded seats, headlights, taillights, a horn, GPS and a bluetooth speaker/radio.

The locker room was very impressive as well. It was full of very cool golf pictures.

The most note worthy part of the trip was on the twelfth hole, there is a sign. The sign that is certainly open for interpretation. Claims Trump hit a hole in one on the first ever round played at the track. If true, this is a legendary feat and worthy of the sign. Either way, if I had a golf course myself, I might just put a sign like this on it just because I could.

My Scores for the Course based on Satisfaction and Enjoyability:

Lunch Food: 8.5/10

Pace of Play: 9/10

Facilities: 10/10

Tee Boxes: 10/10

Greens: 9.5/10

Cart Girl & Half Way House Selection: 10/10

Price: 8/10

I think for a weekday after-noon the price could be more affordable. But all in all, it was worth it for the experience in my opinion.
